Insulating gloves are among the most important PPE for electrical workers as they are the first line of defense for contact with energized components or lines. Insulating rubber gloves are recommended to be worn with leather glove protectors to provide mechanical protection from abrasion, cut, tear, and perforation.

CARE AND USE
To protect workers and maintain dielectric performance, insulating gloves must be properly cared for, stored, inspected, and electrically tested by a certified laboratory at the intervals required by company policy or local regulations. Inspect gloves visually inside and out before each use. Do not use gloves that display cuts, deep scratches, holes, cracks, burns, ozone cutting, or loss of normal elasticity. Follow the guidance in ASTM F496. LTL recommends maintaining two pairs of insulating rubber gloves of the same voltage class and rotating them through regular testing so a tested pair is always available.
