The Electrical Substation Territory Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing sales and market share within our existing customer base, as well as expanding sales volume by identifying and converting new business opportunities in targeted market segments.
•Schedules electrical substation work
•Schedules Hydro outages (including ESA)
•Co-ordinates his/her efforts with Management, Marketing, Accounting and technical departments
•Achieves maximum sales profitability and growth in assigned territory
•Develops a personal sales strategy for the company's products and services to achieve maximum penetration in the assigned territory
•Meets sales targets and operating budgets
•Familiarizes established accounts with new products, services and developments
•Analyzes customer needs and interests to provide solutions
•Must be familiar with all users of our products
•Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints
•Makes telephone calls, presentations to existing and prospective customers
•Stays abreast and informed of products, applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotion trends, and prepares reports
•Uses value-added selling solutions to effectively grow sales volume and differentiate LTL's products and services
•Consults and communicates with the marketing and technical services departments
•Assists in development of department sales team
•Prepares price quotations, terms of sale, delivery dates and service obligations
•Follows up and reports on results of quotes, i.e., won/lost and price
•Liaises with customers, vendors and staff
•Self-managed and guided by business objectives
•Strong customer bias with emphasis on satisfying needs
•Knows how to use personal and industry network contacts to secure new business
•Possesses strong understanding of relevant market supply/value chains
•Understands basic financial metrics of a business and relationship to the role
•Uses computer technology as a tool to improve productivity and complete required assignments and work
•Must have strong customer focus
•Must have solid organizational skills and pay close attention to detail
•Proven skill in prioritization/multi-tasking and problem-solving

•Ability to upgrade (up-sell) customer requirements as needed and when appropriate

Education & Experience
•Post-secondary education, minimally, at the Technical College level (diploma)
•University graduate with emphasis on science, engineering or business
•Self-educated re ESA regulations
•Exemplary understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria
•Hands-on field experience relating to substation work or technical aptitude
•Experience in the sale of services, installation, construction and maintenance of high, medium and low voltage switchgear and substation maintenance a plus
•Experience in estimating/creating quotes and assembling the correct approach to pricing
•Minimum seven (7) years of experience in electrical markets
